You all know I hate teenybopperism

If you've read my past journals on the subject, you know I hate people who only care about what a band member looks like and cares nothing for the music at all. However, on that note, let me make something clear:

that being said, that does not mean I hate it when someone says someone is hot. That does not mean they care nothing for the music or whatever, or they are sending band girlfriends nasty messages. You can know a million songs by a band on guitar, know every song lyric, love the music very much, and have them inspire you and still think they are hot. As long as you're not hurting anyone, it's okay to say. I mean, if that's all you care about, then fuck you. But saying someone is good looking does not make you a stupid fangirl. You should be allowed to say how cute William Beckett's butt looks without being labelled a teenie.

I am only posting this because someone attacked a bunch of people on buzznet discussing Gerard Way being shirtless. Trust me, I expected to be entertained by a lot of teenie-like comments. But none of that was going on, which shocked me. They were just discussing a live show where Gerard had in fact taken his shirt off and were wondering if anyone had any pics. The fact that they were at a concert might be evidence that they do in fact aare music fans. They were making jokes, but being harmless. Me, I could not care less if Gerard takes his shirt off unless he has a choice between taking off his shirt and being raped. But I was pleasantly surprised about how mature everyone was being, as I expected everyone to be all "OMG LYK GERALD WAY IZ SOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOT!!!11!!!!!111!1 I H8 ELIZA CUTS SHE IZ A HOOOOO! I SENT HER A NASTY MESSAGE ON HER MYSPACE!!11111!11!11!" I wanted to have a good laugh, but was deprved because everyone was pretty cool.  And some person had to randomly attack them for no reason. I had no intention of saying anything until I saw that. Some people piss me off like that.

It's not fair to people who are just having fun.

Why adults are clueless: The human condition

First of all, so many adults I hear are always talking about how the reason for violence in our society is because of rap music, rock music, video games, and cartoons like Family Guy or South Park. But last time I checked, violence has been around way before any of these so-called causes ever existed. It's nothing new. However, they totally decide to disregard common sense and decide to blame Marilyn Manson, MCR, Eminem, Trey Parker, and Grand Theft Auto for our troubles as a nation. Huh? They are really just looking for a scapegoat. The problems in our society are inherited through generations, and every single generation is too stupid to figure out how to put a stop to it. Instead, they go and blame other things instead of paying attention as to who it effects. Sorry, but 50 Cent has never made anyone kill someone. However, everyone's favorite solution; authority control, has. Religious groups tell people what to believe, if you decide not to, they kill. You don't like what your kind is doing and say so, you're dead. Say something against Kim Jong Il in North Korea, you're dead. Teachers, parents, and principals over-enforcing the behavior of sit down and shut up, People don't want, they get angry, we can't concentrate on the good they are trying to teach us because all outlets for releasing energy are stifled. People decide they do not wish to be neutered, and that's "bad." So then people are lead to believe that maybe taking the "bad" road is the only way to be happy, and they turn to things that are, in fact, VERY BAD. People forget things of value thanks to the bullshit, and then slide down the spiral.

They makes us sit still and shut up for eight hours, then wonder why we can't concentrate, and instead of asking us, they give us pills, then wonder why people have substance abuse problems.

Oh, wait, I forgot, it's all Cartman's fault

Remember that disgusting Daily Mail article that said MCR promoted self harm? I had this dream last night that scared me shitless

I thought I was done being pissed about it, but then I had this scary dream last night.

This girl in North Korea was being abused by her dad, and then this guy helped her mom somehow escape with her to the UK. And the girl did not fit in in the UK. Se felt all alone, especially because of what had happened to her.  Then she saw this picture of Gerard and Gee looked JUST LIKE the guy who had helped them, so she started listening to the music, and {i}somehow{/i} despite not understanding the words to well, the music spoke to her and gave her hope, and she was able to learn english better and realized she was not alone. Then her father somehow got out as well, and he stopped abusing her, and it seemed everything would be okay. But then that article came out, and her dad believed it, and he burned all her MCR stuff. And she sank into this pit of depression and became incredibly sad. Then one day, she was walking home from school and fell over a bridge into a really violent river. She was a strong swimmer and could have swum to saffety, but she didn't, she just let herself die

It scared the shit out of me.

People are actually surprised there is sexism in rock and roll?

Of COURSE there is. Rock and roll is an incredibly sexist business. All-girl bands like Bikini Kill and Babes in Toyland have a very difficult time getting radio airplay. If you hear a female voice on a rock station it always means it's a band where she is the only female. Even after years and years of numerous female artists, if there is a band made up of girls, they are tagged a 'girl-band' yet I've never heard Slipknot, or A7X or The Academy Is... tagged as a boy band. If you do, you're insulting them, but you can call the slits a 'girl band' and it's no problem. People act like it's so shocking to have a female rock and roll artist that does it well, and if she does, she's a bitch. When Courtney and Kurt were married, they said she probably dominated him and got him hooked on Smack. But it was HE who got HER hooked on smack, and if you watch footage of them together, she's always following and doing what HE says. The only time it seems a girl gets a break in rock is when she has a bunch of boys behind her. And despite numeros female rock greats: Janis Joplin, Carole King, Aretha Franklin, Patti Smith, Debbi Harry, Ari Up, Souixsie Siouk, Kim Gordon, everyone thinks it such a big deal that Kelly Clarkson sang "Sweet Child O' Mine,"

And what about female fans? It's always assumed we want to be groupies. I mean, people criticze bands because girls like it, are we really so low class? What we can't just love the music? We can't be taken seriously? But if it's a guy: no biggie. The term 'fangirl' really just means young female fan, yet it's considered a bad thing to be. Why?

No, rock and roll is sexist as hell. Whih is why people like to call things 'girl-rock.' It ain't "girl-rock" It's rock and roll. Get the fuck over it.
