First of all, I would like to say there is nothing, NOTHING wrong with wanting to know the name and face of some band member's bf/gf/fiance/spouse. Every day, people look at magazines to read about who this one celebrity is dating, or some hollywood breakup. If a public figure does not care if someone knows who their partner is or what they look like enough to keep it top secret or whatever, knowing who they are is not a bad thing. It does  not mean you appreciate the music any less, nor does it mean you are a stupid teenie or whatever.

Second, there is also nothing wrong with commenting on the physical attributes of a band member. If you think someone is hot, go ahead and scream it out like your life depends on it. People are usually so scared of complimenting a member of the opposite sex on their looks, it is nice to find an environment where a person can do that without feeling embarrassed. And who cares if someone spends time looking at pictures and drooling, they're probably listening to that person's  music anyways.

That being said, there is still a line between carefree adoration, and being fucking barbaric. If an artist lets their sig be known to fans, it means they are trusting you to be happy for them and such. Looking at a picture of some girl, then declaring her a bitch, whore, fake, or poser for no reason, or one like the fact her hair is not something you consider to be cool, is simply idiotic. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and if you don't like her hair, say so, but don't use that as an excuse to abuse someone who does not have n opportunity to defend themselves. Try to be tolerant people, please. Also, if you're a little jealous, then admit it, don't try to disguise it by making some uncalled-for remark.

Let me remind you, these are PEOPLE, just like us. They have every right to be happy and be in relationships. Let these people experience the same happiness their music gives to you by letting them have love without worrying that a person they care for is being abused and lied about on the net.

Then there is the fact that what you are doing is USELESS! They are not going to break up with someone or want to date you if you call their girlfriend a STD-farting slut. It won't work.

Let me tell you some of the things that DO actually happen when things like this are said. First, the artist is afraid to interact with us because of the stupid things some jealous little girls say. Second, it makes the younger, female fan group as a whole look bad. People look at us and think, "Oh, a bunch of teenage fangirls." Now, technically, if you really look at that description, there is nothing wrong with it. The most courteous, devoted, smart, poised girl can fit in that group. But when that description is used, it looks like an insult because of how teenage female fans are percieved by critics. Why are we seen this way? Because of the few bad apples who can't handle that a hot guy in a band they like has a girlfriend and acts out by calling the innocent girl a whore and a bitch. A broad generalization is made about us, and it makes me embarrassed, because I know someday I might be within a few feet of some artist I like and respect, like Gerard Way or Adam Lazarra, and they'll think "Oh, another one of my teenie fans who will probably ask me to marry them." And it would not even be my fault, or even theirs.

Plus it makes the bands look bad. People use stupid comments on the messageboards and such as criticism, like, "that band sucks! all their fans are stupid little fangirls who just oggle the lead singer." Being a fan means you are somewhat connected to the band, and therfre, making an ass of yourself can make them look like asses too.

I want to be able to comment on a picture of a band member without immediately being grouped together with a bunch of vicious, lying, self-centerred girls who have no lives. I want to be able to see a picture of a girl and be happy for a band member without read comments like, "OHHHH that's his gf, she's like, a total slut and she's a poser too, I can tell because right now she's wearing a Sex Pistols tee now, but in an earlier picture she was wearing a baby-blue dress. And her amount of makeup proves she's a whore!!!!!" I don't want to be ashamed of being a teenager, or a girl. I don't want to be embarrassed by what other people say.

I'm not saying people should kiss-ass either, ok? Don't call a chick beautiful or cool just because she's dating someone in a band. Listen, I think women as a whole have evolved past being praised solely for what man they have instead of what they do, or who they are. Women are not defined by the men they date. And if you know from first-hand experience, that the girl is a bitch, then fine, go ahead and tell us about the evil thing she did or said. But don't make judgements about the character of someone you don't know. It's ridiculous. Don't try to tell rock stars who or what they deserve just because you are attracted to them, it's senseless and silly.

And for the record, how do we know if some rock star even deserves a decent chick? He could be a total asshole for all we know who you might hate if you knew. Maybe the chick he's dating is like ten times to good for him.
